I always love to here
about life in America.
You know, life is very different in Iran.
For on thing,
we have special clothing.
All women have to dress
according to the rules of hijab.
This means that the body and head
must always be coverd.
Some women wear a chador,
which is a long robe, usually black.
Other women wear scarves
on their heads.
Some women wear stylish shoes
and nail polish,
but make-up is usually only allowed
at home.
My sister, sho is at college,
told me that the female students
must go to a special room
every morning.
There, some teachers check
that they are dressed appropriately.
If they aren`t,
they are sent home!
Of course,
some girls hate these rules,
but they have to be careful.
We can even be arrested
for taking our scarves off.
Most of us spend a lot of time
tying them tightly
because they are always slipping down!
I sometimes think
that it is good that we dress in the same way
because we aren`t judged
on just our clothes or looks.
I hear that in America
it is very important to be fashinable,
and people are very intersted
in wearing stylish clothes and accessories.
There is another thing
that`s different here:
girls here aren`t allowed
to leave the house
unless their fathers give then permission.
If the woman is married,
it is the husband
who gives permission.
What is it like in your country?
