as "Yu-na Kim Day,"
the city council said Tuesday,
according to Yonhap News.
The 20-year-old
Olympic gold medalist is due
to receive the "Proud Korean Award,"
presented by the Korean American Leadership Foundation,
on the upcoming
Yu-na Kim Day

The Los Angeles City Council
unanimously passed a resolution
to mark Aug.7
as "Yu-na Kim Day,"
which was submitted
by council members
Herb Wesson and Tom LaBonge,
it said.
Both councilmen represent
