won the gold medal
in the women's figure skating competition
in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
on Friday.
lt is the first time
that Korea has grabbed
the Olympic gold medal
in the figure skating
and it is the second
in Asia.
Kim burst
into tears
after finishing her free skate
at the Pacific Coliseum
which gave her gold
by a massive 23-point margin
on her arch-rival
Mao Asada
of Japan.
Kim received a word record
of 228.56 points,
renewing
her own record
of 210.03 set
in last October.
