Why is it so hard    왜 이렇게 어려운 걸까요    Why is it so hard
        
for us to find rest?    우리가 안식을 찾는 것이 말입니다    for us to find rest?
        
We need rest    우리는 안식이 필요합니다    We need rest
        
and we long for it,    그리고 그것을 간절히 원합니다    and we long for it,
        
but it remains elusive.    그러나 그것은 좀처럼 붙잡히지 않습니다    but it remains elusive.
        
We blame our busy lives,    우리는 바쁜 삶을 탓하고    We blame our busy lives,
        
fractured relationships,    깨어진 관계들을 탓하며    fractured relationships,
        
and the demands and allure of technology,    기술이 요구하는 것들과 그 유혹을 탓합니다    and the demands and allure of technology,
        
but these are both causes    그러나 이것들은 원인이기도 하고    but these are both causes
        
and symptoms of our struggle.    동시에 우리의 분투가 드러나는 증상이기도 합니다    and symptoms of our struggle.

Why is it so hard for us to find rest?

We need rest and we long for it, but it remains elusive. We blame our busy lives, fractured relationships, and the demands and allure of technology, but these are both causes and symptoms of our struggle. We will not find true and lasting rest if we limit our search to incremental changes such as a better sleep regimen or a simpler schedule, as helpful as these may be. True rest can only be found in God. It is a foundational way of living out the Christian life that can only be learned from him and put into practice amid the challenges of daily life.

At the 2024 CCEF National Conference, we will reflect on how Scripture unfolds what it means to rest, and how we can embrace its blessings as we grow in our understanding and commitment to this gracious invitation from our Savior.
